About Código 1530
There’s a legend that, for several generations, a local Amatitán artisan and distilling family has passionately produced a spirit, never veering from the centuries-old codes and customs – “Los Códigos.” Código 1530 is inspired by this legend and is bringing this tequila to the world.
Learn more about our story
Ron Snyder, Federico Vaughan, Betsy Heneghan, and George Strait founded Código 1530.
Código was founded in 2017.
All our tequila is produced in Amatitán, Jalisco. We use an autoclave to cook our agave and stainless steel tanks for fermentation.
Everything except our Blanco is rested or aged in French white oak wine barrels from 1 month to 6 years.
To make Código 1530 Rosa, we rest our Blanco for 30 days in an uncharred cabernet wine barrel. No colors are added.
George Strait was a founder of the brand.
Código is made in Amatitán, Jalisco.
How To Enjoy
If you’re looking to enjoy your tequila by itself, we recommend sipping it neat at room temperature, or over ice. A glass with more headroom will allow you to fully experience the aromas. Sip slowly, taking time to smell, taste the flavors, and notice the finish.
If you’re looking for a mixed drink, our cocktails page includes recipes tailored to the flavor profiles of our different tequilas.
